Shiori Naruse is a Textile and Surface Pattern Designer based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. Born in the UK of British and Japanese heritage, she takes inspiration from the natural world and the arts and culture of Japan to create unique and expressive textured art. Shiori’s main focus is hand-printed and machine embroidered designs for interior and furnishings fabrics.

Shiori completed her BA (Hons) in Textiles and Surface Design at Cleveland College of Art and Design 2015. Whilst studying she has completed two textile internships at Baxter and Fawcett, London and Trend Bible in Newcastle. She has exhibited at New Designers and has been commissioned as a costume designer by On Board Arts.
Shiori uses Madeira threads, Akua inks, Ezeeplan and Fiskars scissors.
